DIGITAL LEARNING: A CASE STUDY OF AN INSTITUTIONAL MODEL

Abstract: Technological changes transform the way in which human beings live. Today‘s digital savvy generation prefers everything in digital format. Integration of technology in education has resulted in digital learning, which is spreading at an enormous speed. Education being a life time experience, and the never ending demand for equipping the staff with the changing requirements, even corporate houses are eager to incorporate digital learning for their human capital development. However, there is a dearth of a wide spectrum of good quality courses in the digital platform which ensures quality empowerment. Though most of the premier management institutes which cater to the creamy layer of executives in the corporate sector started offering digital programmes in their executive programmes, Indian Universities and a vast majority of other management institutes which caters to the middle level management are yet to use digital technology in their educational programmes. There is also scarcity of good models of digital education in the Indian Scenario which could be replicated. The present paper analyses the opportunities of digital learning for Indian educational institutions and features the successful launch of a digital learning model by Christian Institute of Management.
